Have the time of your life on the 5th and 6th October at Festival Place Shopping Centre with a celebration of the most iconic dance films in history. As well as special screenings, they’ll be recreating the best bits with live dance performances around the centre. Of course, every great film needs something great to munch with it, so here’s my pick of the cinematic snacks.

With retro films on the list like Saturday Night Fever, Strictly Ballroom and Flash Dance, you need some suitably retro sweets to nibble (from £1.20, M&S). Coconut mushroom anyone?!

If you’re off to watch Pulp Fiction, visit Ed’s Easy Diner first for an all-American feed. They don’t do a “Royal with Cheese”, but they do offer a choice of Cheddar, Emmental or American cheese to complement their great West Country beef burgers (from £5.95).

I carried a watermelon?! If you’re watching your dancer’s figure munch away guilt-free on this ready-cubed, seed-free watermelon whilst swooning over Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing (£2 for 400 g from Tesco).

If you’re a serious popcorn aficionado, treat yourself to a JML Halogen Oven (£59.99 from Debenhams). As well as being able to rustle up a roast 40% faster than usual, you’ll also have the perfect gadget for popping your corn.

The ultimate treat to enjoy with any dance film has got to be these cute little Twinkle Toes from Hotel Chocolat (£5.50 for 85 g). Perfect for budding ballerinas!
